Aspen Cultural Activities

Aspen has a rich cultural history. Aspen’s modern day founders, Walter and Elizabeth Paepke, instilled the idea of nurturing mind, body and spirit, in what is now known as the Aspen Idea.  Aspen has the arts and culture of a big city, with a small town feel. There are many cultural events and activities that take place throughout the year.

Aspen Art Museum

The Aspen Art Museum is a non-collecting institution presenting the newest, most important evolutions in international and contemporary art. They feature artists from around the country and the Roaring Fork Valley

Aspen Center For Physics

The Aspen Center for Physics is supported by a grant from the National Science Foundation and provides events and lectures to the public in the Summer and Winter as well as encourages individual and collaborative research for physicists. Aspen Music Festival and School

The AMFS runs music programs and  throughout the Summer. Come out and listen to the wonderful music in Aspen Colorado while you are surrounded by majestic mountains and the clean Aspen mountain air.

Aspen Institute

The Aspen Institute mission is to foster values-based leadership and to provide a neutral and balanced venue for discussing and acting on critical issues through seminars, Global young-leader fellowships, policy programs, and public conferences and events.

Aspen Historical Society

The Aspen Historical Society actively preserves and passionately presents Aspen’s local history in a manner that will continue to anchor the community and its evolving character.

Anderson Ranch Arts Center

Anderson Ranch promotes artistic experimentation and growth through workshops offered year around in ceramics, sculpture, photography, painting and drawing, furniture design and more. The facility features fully-equipped art studios and galleries. Summer art workshops, art auctions, and artist slide lectures attract over 5,000 artists, patrons, art students and faculty annually to this historic Rocky Mountain ranch.

Belly Up Aspen

With a steady stream of national and world-renowned acts that usually play for thousands of people, the intimate venue, with a capacity of 450, offers a rare chance to see bands like Jane’s Addiction, the Flaming Lips, WuTang Clan, B.B. King, Chris Isaak and others up close. In addition, the Belly Up’s layout offers a good view of the stage from just about any seat in the house.

Jazz Aspen Snowmass Festival

Kick back and enjoy the same first-class Jazz music we have been enjoying since 1991. The Jazz Aspen Snowmass Festival has many locations and strives to preserve the sound and spirit of Jazz.

 Snowmass Thursday Night Concert Series
Every Thursday night during the Summer enjoy free outdoor concerts in Snowmass Village. Concerts start at 6:15 Pm on Fanny Hill. Bring the family, pack a picnic, and enjoy the free music and scenery.
